THE ART OF TRAVEL

I invite you on a journey to experience my beautiful soul sister, Orly Avineri’s transformational teachings, combined with my love of travel beginning in Lisbon, which is a city renown for its urban art and historic neighborhoods . . . and Portugal, a country filled with such rich history . . .

We will begin our adventure together in Lisbon as we gather inspiration from the creative energy of this incredibly vibrant city. We will then experience an incredible 5 day mixed media workshop together in a beautifully tranquil Posada in Alentejo on this epic journey both on and off the canvas.

history,and culture in every step . . .

Medieval castles, cobblestone villages, a captivating city: the portugal experience can be many things. history, great food and idyllic scenery are just the beginning . . . Join us as we journey to this ancient country and participate in a 5 day mixed media workshop with Orly Avineri in a restored old convent built in the 16th century.

Portugal has a charming culture and very friendly people. the best way to get to know the country is to stroll up and down its streets, and follow the sounds of fado, We will partake in wine and tapas with the locals, learn how to cook a portuguese specialty while we explore with like-minded creatives, Be prepared to be surprised; you never know what wonders we will find around the next corner, in this country that comes out of a latin fairytale filled with beautiful people, culture, art and traditions.

OUT OF THE ART-JOURNAL

ONTO THE CANVAS

A 5 -day Mixed Media Workshop

Orly Avineri

Practices of mixed media art making cultivate insight into the nature of the creative process and its multiple relations to emotional stories of loss and mend. Enriched by self trust and acceptance, images, photos, paper, paint, words, pen, line, thread, and many unconventional tools and materials entwine to make expressive, complex and extremely personal creations. It's all about one's willingness to reveal vulnerability and rawness for the sake of true creative freedom, newness, and a deep sense of interconnectedness to all. Experiencing honest and joyous journeys takes precedence over producing beautiful outcomes. Ultimately, this process is about depicting the fluidity of life, about effortlessly carrying one's self from one place to another and about connecting to a larger world than our own.

Throughout my years of guiding beautiful people through the practices and processes of art journaling and till today I often hear how that practice makes people feel at ease, safe, free, connected to their creative selves, be themselves, and all kinds of good stuff.

At the same time I hear how going outside of the journal, or bigger, makes people feel the opposite, and therefore fearful or having performance anxiety.

The truth, I believe, is that once you feel truly comfortable, free, joyous, from within the art journaling practice, there is nothing that can limit you other than your “beliefs”. If you can be free inside of the journal you can be free in any other substrate, any size, any format.

So let’s get our paints out, our papers, our pens, and find our freedoms and joys on another substrate, the canvas!

Let’s make new decisions about our capabilities. Let’s find newness, cause we need it and deserve it. Let’s start making new statements and declarations that better suit our spirits.

Our explorative, eager, brave and loving selves.

THIS IS THE ARTIST’S DATE YOU HAVE BEEN DREAMING ABOUT, JUST SAY YES, AND LET US DO THE REST!!

Travel for me is more than just a feeling. It is more than a rush of happiness and wonder that comes from a new experience and connection - it is saying ‘YES’ to yourself, stretching, while learning and growing into new ways of being and engaging with others in the world, it often requires us to feel little outside of our comfort zones - but that is where the magic and miracles happen both on and off the canvas.

Join the Adventure

The only thing that matters is to feel fado. The fado is not meant to be sung; it simply happens. You feel it, you don’t understand it and you don’t explain it.
